I have been puzzling about how to engage younger demographic with a football club. How can we give different market segments what they want.
Working for a small club like FC Nordsjaelland is extremely satisfying. For we could run all kind of experiments with fan engagement. We had a 14 year old guy who is a season ticket holder do an internship for one week. We needed some content for Top of Funnel fan engagement. I came up with an idea to film him and have him promote the club in his own words.
Our Head of Media simply gave the boy the GoPro, access to all areas of the club, including access to the first team and told him to go nuts. And he did. He asked one of the attacking players why he is not scoring, told Croatia national team player that he is the best right back in the world and gave another first team player crap for using his phone in a locker room. 🙂
Our Tobias Skanning did all the hard work in editing it. From idea to a live Facebook campaign in 6 days. Now i will see if I can leverage this video to get engagement and possibly to sell some tickets on Facebook 🙂
